Profile
Our History
Engineered Air was formed in 1966. Sales for the first year were over $90,000. Our commitment to custom design and manufacturing along with innovative marketing programs resulted in sales of $6,000,000 by 1976.
Engineered Air continued to gain respect as one of Canada's top HVAC equipment manufacturers. We forged ahead with our customized manufacturing processes, while many other manufacturers opted for standardization. Expanding sales resulted in the addition of more design engineers and larger manufacturing facilities. The development of new products by our R & D department along with acquisitions fueled our continued success, representing $36,000,000 in sales by 1986.
The 90’s saw us expand our market horizons through the purchase of "AIRTEX Radiant Systems" and "QDT Heat Pipe". The addition of these innovative products, combined with the opening of our Desoto, Kansas manufacturing plant and United States head office, has seen yearly sales climb to over $100,000,000. Many companies may consider this position a plateau, but in keeping with our corporate goals, we prefer to view this as a ridge leading on to the twenty first century …
Current Day
Engineered Air has sold more than a billion dollars of custom HVAC equipment and is aggressively expanding its market place. At present, the company employs over 50 graduate Engineers and 80 Technicians with a total work force that exceeds 970 highly trained people. It has always been our President, Don Taylor’s, goal to employ people not machines. In keeping with this strategy our plant expansions will add to these employment totals while adding to the overall ability to increase the investment in the company.
Presently we operate manufacturing plants in Desoto, Kansas (USA head office), in Edmonton, Alberta, in Newmarket, Ontario, and 4 in Calgary, Alberta (Canadian head office). We have 13 sales offices in the United States and 12 sales offices in Canada. They are supported by factory trained technicians to ensure that our products meet your expectations.
Management's view of the company as a partnership between the staff and you, the customer, is reflected in Engineered Air’s commitment to education, research and development, and the communities in which our customers and staff live. Engineered Air supports and contributes to technical schools and universities throughout North America.
The Future
Engineered Air’s continued commitment to custom manufacturing along with product innovation will see a continued rapid growth for the balance of this century and on into the next.
As we continue to expand in the United States and Canada, our new sales offices and manufacturing facilities will help us stay in tune with the needs of you, our customer. Our commitment to the ISO 9002 standard for quality assurance combined with our dedicated sales, design, and manufacturing people will ensure that YOU, the CUSTOMER, continue to receive the quality products that can only be supplied by a CUSTOM manufacturer that offers a truly ENGINEERED product!!
